OREGON, Ohio (WTVG) – Students say the decision will cut short their final year, including sports seasons and plans to graduate at the school.
Cardinal Stritch High School seniors are reacting to the announcement that the school will close in December. For Shawn Weatherford, the news brings back a previous school closure: St. John the Baptist Elementary shut down after his first-grade year.
‘I just wanted to graduate here’
Weatherford said he has attended Cardinal Stritch for 10 years and hoped to finish high school there.
“It honestly hurt my feelings. You know, I’ve been here for 10 years, and there is a reason I’m here. It’s because I love this school. It’s a great place, and I just wanted to graduate here,” Weatherford said…
