Former Souderton firefighter charged in alleged arson spree in 30-hour span also set a fire in Lansdale, police say

After a former Souderton firefighter was arrested in May for allegedly setting three fires in Montgomery County, police have accused him of setting a fourth one a month earlier in Lansdale.

Within 30 hours, Justin Sholly, who was a member of the Perseverance Volunteer Fire Company, started fires in three locations in Souderton and Franconia, then responded to two scenes with the fire company. He was arrested on May 31 on arson-related offenses in connection with the three fires but was released on Sept. 1.

In June, however, police said Sholly, 29, was connected to a fourth fire that occurred on April 19 at a two-story twin residence in Lansdale. He was arrested on Oct. 7 on multiple felony charges, including arson, and was sent to Montgomery County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail…
