Reno man killed in head-on crash on Highway 139 near Tulelake

TULELAKE, Calif. — A 24-year-old man from Reno was killed Tuesday afternoon when his pickup crossed into oncoming traffic and crashed head-on with another truck on Highway 139, south of the Tulelake Agricultural Station, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) said.

CHP officers responded about 2:55 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6. The man was driving a Toyota Tacoma north when, for reasons under investigation, he lost control and entered the southbound lane, CHP said.

The Tacoma collided head-on with a southbound Ram 2500 driven by a 55-year-old Adin woman. CHP said the Reno man died at the scene and the woman suffered minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital…
