NCDOT plans for more than $200 million Ramsey Street makeover in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — A major makeover could be coming to one of Fayetteville’s busiest roads, and NCDOT wants the public to help shape the plans.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation is studying a proposed seven-mile reconstruction of Ramsey Street, from the Martin Luther King Jr. Freeway to Bethune Drive, north of Interstate 295.

The proposal calls for expanding the road to six lanes, three in each direction, and adding a raised median. NCDOT says the project aims to reduce congestion, improve safety, and make it easier for pedestrians and bicyclists to travel along the busy corridor…
