Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department Unveils New Tool to Fight Electric Vehicle Fires

The Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department demonstrated a new firefighting system on Oct. 9 designed to help crews reach fires inside electric vehicle battery packs and other difficult-to-access areas.

The Cold Cut Cobra System, acquired through Urban Area Security Initiative grant funding, uses high-pressure water and an abrasive material to cut through surfaces and to deliver water closer to the source of a fire.
