Syracuse collapses at Virginia 28-25 en route to 3rd ACC loss

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Syracuse is on the quarterback carousel again. The Orange thought they had the answer at quarterback when Amari Odom recorded six touchdowns in their overtime win over UConn Oct. 3. But certainty only lasted until Friday. That’s when Odom was listed as doubtful for SU’s clash with Virginia Saturday. Steve Angeli, who started its first three games, was marked as out.

As kickoff approached Saturday, Odom was upgraded to a game-time decision. Syracuse’s fate under center hovered in ambiguity.

For the second straight week, the Orange’s starting quarterback was announced less than a half an hour before the game. Former five-star recruit Malachi Nelson, who’s at his fourth school, got the starting nod. SU became the first Football Bowl Subdivision team to start three different signal callers this season…
