Eugene, OR – Eugene Springfield Fire (ESF) crews responded to a reported structure fire at Coastal Farm & Ranch in Eugene early Saturday morning, Oct. 10, but determined the incident involved a large outdoor fire among palletized wood shavings in the parking lot.
At approximately 6:22 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to the business at 2200 W. 6th Ave. after multiple callers reported a fire of unknown type.
Tower 2, responding from the Whiteaker Station, arrived in about four minutes as part of a first-alarm response. Crews located the fire, assessed the scene and established incident command before downgrading the response after determining the fire was outside and involved stacked wood shavings…
