Durham Dad Shot Trying to Break Into Ex’s Apartment, Police Call It Self-Defense

A father was shot while allegedly trying to force his way into the apartment of his child’s mother in northeast Durham on Saturday morning, and police say the man who pulled the trigger was her brother, acting in self-defense. The father was hospitalized with injuries that are not considered life-threatening, and investigators say charges are expected against him.
