PENDER COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – The National Weather Service office in Wilmington confirmed that a tornado was observed near Atkinson in Pender County on Sunday at 1:18 p.m., as the remnants of Hurricane Isaias moved through North Carolina.
A trained weather spotter reported the tornado near Rankin Street and Beatty’s Bridge Road, moving northeast toward U.S. Highway 421 and Point Caswell Road.
