PLAYA DEL REY – An adult man was found face down in the surf at Dockweiler Beach in Playa del Rey on Sunday morning and later pronounced dead, KTLA reported.
The 911 call came in around 8:30 a.m. near Tower 42 in the 6900 block of Pacific Avenue, according to the County Fire Department Lifeguard Division. Two bystanders on a morning walk had seen the man repeatedly moving between the water and the shore before the emergency response.
A lifeguard on patrol began CPR. Two additional County lifeguard units and Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics later joined the effort. LAFD crews responded around 9:05 a.m…
