A woman trying to walk across Silver Springs Boulevard in downtown Ocala was hit and killed the morning of Oct. 12, according to the Ocala Police Department. Here’s what we know:

What happened in the crash?
According to the preliminary investigation, the woman was trying to cross the boulevard near the Gulf (formerly RaceTrac) gas station. She was struck by an eastbound Chevy Camaro driven by a man.
Later Monday, Ocala Police identified the victim as 54-year-old Lisa Ann Julian, who was homeless. The driver’s name was not released by police. They said only that he is 64 years old and was alone in the vehicle at the time of the crash…
