Week begins with HEAT, ends much COOLER

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – After months of consistently hot weather, this will be the week we are back on the roller coaster, as we have our first major cool-down of the season on the way late this week and into the weekend.

We will be ready for cooler weather, as the next 4 days will be very hot for October. Monday begins in the 60s and warms into the low 90s under mostly sunny skies. Wind will turn to the south this afternoon, slowly increasing our humidity in the upcoming days.

The rise in humidity will bring scattered clouds and a 20 percent chance of rain Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon. Our high temperautres will remain in the low 90s, and the rise in humidity will send our heat index to around 100 degrees on Tuesday. Rainfall accumulations will be light this week, as our stronger late-week front isn’t likely to bring any rain or thunderstorms.

Temperatures will begin to fall off Thursday night, with highs settling into the 70s and low 80s on Friday, and even cooler in the low to mid 70s on Saturday.
