After Sammy’s Grill in Baton Rouge closed in June, a new business took over the space, and it’s soft opening this week.
The Historic Highland Road Grill is located at 8635 Highland Road inside the former Sammy’s Grill, a longtime Baton Rouge restaurant that operated for nearly 40 years. Willie Chapman, the owner of Willie’s Restaurant, 11260 Coursey Blvd., will take over the 8,300-square-foot space.
He said the new restaurant will run the same vein as Willie’s, a modern Cajun and Creole restaurant, but with a different menu.
