CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — The Cedar Rapids Community School District reported a nearly 35% reduction in teacher turnover over two years during its annual human resources presentation to the Board of Education.
The district said teacher turnover fell from 15.52% in the 2023-24 school year to 10.12% in 2025-26. Nearly 90% of district teachers now return from one year to the next, according to the district.
Transportation employee turnover also declined during the same period, falling from 24.03% to 18.62%. The district said its average employee tenure is about 11 years…
