The sister of Bay Area reality television personality Mackayla Paige, known to fans as “Kash,” has been charged in connection with the 29-year-old’s fatal shooting after prosecutors said a handgun went off during an attempt to intervene in a street fight.
The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office charged Vernika Dunbar, 38, of Berkeley, on Tuesday, Oct. 13, with involuntary manslaughter. She also faces charges of assault with a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm in public and brandishing a firearm in public.
