CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) – Two elderly victims in Chatham County’s Islands area lost more than $100,000 combined after scammers convinced them their computers were infected with a virus, according to the Chatham County Police Department.
Police said the incidents happened within the past week. In both cases, the victims reported seeing a pop-up on their computer warning of a virus.
