NEW HANOVER COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – A Wilmington man has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in connection with a deadly e-bike crash earlier this year.
According to the office of District Attorney Jason Smith, 34-year-old Brian Keith Mcie was driving on South Kerr Avenue near the intersection of Greenway Avenue on July 6 when he tried to change lanes while speeding and hit an e-bike rider.
Witnesses, video footage and physical evidence confirmed Mcie was driving up to 74 miles per hour before the crash and around 45 to 50 miles per hour during it, the DA’s office said. The speed limit in the area is 35 miles per hour…
