The Heroes Bar & Grill space in Old Town Wichita will soon be taken over by a business whose owner plans to run it as a sports bar and not as a nightclub.
Niki Manbeck, who for the past five years has owned a sports bar called Bullpen in Baldwin City, is opening a second location of that business in the old Heroes space. She hopes to have Wichita’s Bullpen open by February 1.
Manbeck, a Wichita-area native who graduated from Circle High School and Newman University, said that the Bullpen will be a traditional sports bar that serves bar food like burgers and wings. It’ll be filled with television sets, serve lunch and dinner, and close by midnight…
