DENHAM SPRINGS, La. (WAFB) – Livingston Parish is honoring longtime crossing guard Katy Wells ahead of what would have been her first birthday since her death, which falls on Sunday (Oct. 18).
Wells served as a crossing guard in the parish and started the first computer lab at her school. A mural honoring her was painted by one of the school’s art teachers over the summer.
“This was painted by one of our talented art teachers over the summer. Ms. Katy started the first computer lab here,” according to Laura Dunlap, Seventh Ward Elementary’s principal.
