LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) — The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns softball team hosted Mississippi Gulf Coast in its first home fall exhibition game, using the occasion to honor Head Coach Alyson Habetz and the medical team that guided her through her breast cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Dr. Henry Kaufman, a surgical oncologist at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center, was one of many medical professionals recognized on the field prior to the game.
Habetz marked a major milestone in her recovery by ringing the treatment bell two weeks prior to the exhibition game. Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center maintains a formal sponsorship relationship with the university, providing medical care for student-athletes, coaches and staff…
