WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) – The North Country’s self-proclaimed “crazy cemetery lady” has officially cleaned more than 3,000 gravestones- a six year endeavor that’s culminated in national attention.
“There’s so many, I just walk around I look and, like, that one right there is super dark. You can see the streaks and everything. That needs to be cleaned,” says Allyson Stephenson.
Cemeteries have become a passion of Stephenson’s, a former nurse now tending to the dead. She finds herself regularly cleaning Northern New York’s gravestones…
