BARRINGTON, R.I. (WJAR) — A routine trip to the mailbox turned into a frightening encounter for a 91-year-old Barrington man who says a raccoon attacked him from behind as he walked down the front steps of his home.
Hal Hamilton said the attack happened just after 9 a.m. on Oct. 2. He was carefully making his way down the stairs when the raccoon struck him behind both knees, knocking him off balance.
“I felt something like a bolster had been rolled down the stairs behind me and got me right in back of both knees,” Hamilton said. “And then the bolster bit.”…
