‘A Recurring Meeting,’ ‘That’s a Tradition’ — Tennessee Fans Storm Neyland Again as Vols Face a Possible $500,000 SEC Fine Payable to Alabama

Beating Alabama at Neyland Stadium has become a habit for Tennessee, and so has what comes after it. Saturday’s 26-10 win was the Vols’ third straight home win over the Crimson Tide, and fans flooded the field again. Reports that they got there before Alabama had left could cost Tennessee the SEC’s flat $500,000 fine, which would be paid to Alabama.

The SEC hasn’t ruled, and everything turns on that timing. Under the policy the league adopted in 2025, a storm costs $500,000 every time unless the visiting team and officials are off the field before the fans get there.

Fans Treat the Latest Neyland Field Storm as a Tradition

Bleacher Report’s post of the celebration put two storylines side by side, opening with “Tennessee fans storm field after third-straight home win vs. Bama” and adding that the Crimson Tide had now lost in back-to-back weeks.
