Asheville shoppers can reserve locally raised Thanksgiving turkeys for pickup at farms and city farmers markets this November. Good Wheel and Mother Holler farms in Leicester and Wild East Farm in Marion are taking deposits, with Asheville pickup windows available alongside farm collections.
Good Wheel and Mother Holler charge $11 per pound for fresh turkeys, with a $40 nonrefundable deposit applied toward the purchase price. Customers choose a small bird weighing 8–12 pounds or a large bird weighing 12–16 pounds; individual weights within those ranges are available first come, first served at pickup.
Good Wheel’s farm pickup runs from 2–5 p.m. Sunday, November 22nd, at 29 Little Bluestem Lane in Leicester, during a holiday market with other vendors.
