OKATIE, S.C. (WTOC) – A Hampton County man accused of attacking his girlfriend in front of a child is going to prison after pleading guilty to his charges.
Kendrick Shanard Smoaks, 33, of Luray pleaded guilty Thursday in connection with an incident that took place Oct. 16, 2025, in Hardeeville, to:
- Assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature
- Possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime
- First-degree domestic violence
Smoaks was sentenced to 15 years, suspended to 10 years of active imprisonment followed by probation, according to a news release from the 14th Circuit Solicitor’s Office…
