Construction on Woodlawn in Bel Aire has been stagnant for the past week and a half as the city awaits soil testing, the city’s engineer shared at the Tuesday City Council meeting.
“We did find some different soil that was unanticipated, it was very much a Play-Doh consistency,” Anne Stephens, Bel Aire’s city engineer, said.
As soon as the soft soil was found, the city sent a sample to the Kansas Department of Transportation for testing to see what kind of lime stabilization will be needed. It’s unclear when construction will begin again on the project, though the city has received some test results back…
