SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – City leaders unanimously voted yes to build a subdivision on undeveloped land at the old Coastal Empire Fairgrounds in Savannah’s 5th District, including 15 affordable single-family homes.
Construction already underway
A senior complex is currently under construction at the site.
Mayor Pro-Tem and 5th District Alderwoman Dr. Estella Shabazz said the development addresses a need in Savannah.
“We have a shortage, an inventory shortage here in our city of housing, and this is going to be monumental due to the fact that we are also including affordable housing on this property,” Shabazz said…
