San Antonio day-drinking haven demolished amid relocation to new home

San Antonio has apparently lost one of its day-drinking staples after most of Make My Day Lounge’s longtime home on Nacogdoches Road was razed this month. However, frequenters of the bar may still have hope, given its notorious 7 a.m. opening time, as another location appears to be in the works.

Make My Day Lounge announced in April that it would relocate to a new home, and since then, the business has provided periodic updates on its status. The most recent update was posted on Facebook on June 27.

“The new Make My Day band / karaoke stage almost completed, built from the bottom up. Next is the dance floor…and yes we’re still going to open lol,” the bar wrote in a post with photos of the work in progress.

In the comments under that post, Make My Day Lounge alleged that the Nacogdoches Road would eventually be torn down to make way for a car wash. Demolition appeared to be nearly complete as of October 25. Make My Day Lounge’s new home, located at 8373 Perrin Beitel, does not appear to be open yet, but a temporary sign for the bar was hung on the building.

MySA attempted to reach Make My Day Lounge by phone, but calls to its listed number did not go through. Additionally, we reached out to the business via Facebook Messenger, and we will update this story if we receive a response…
