TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Bowsher High School is about to become the Bowsher Arts and Science Academy. Issue 9 would help fund that transformation and others within the district.
Issue 9 is a proposal for a new property tax levy that would generate $22 million annually. Superintendent Romules Durant said the money helps make up for dollars lost due to rising operational costs, state cuts and inflation.
“What this does is help replace dollars that we lost in the last biennial budget, we lost 24 millions dollars over that period of time,” Durant said.
