A 67-year-old Villager was arrested on a drunk driving charge after fleeing from police in a black Camaro and giving a series of bizarre answers during her interrogation.
Linda Mae Haremza, a native New Yorker and resident of the Village of Rio Grande, was arrested late Friday by the Belleview Police Department.
An officer initially clocked Haremza’s black Chevrolet Camaro traveling 69 mph in a 45 mph zone on U.S. Hwy. 441. The vehicle swayed over lane lines, and Haremza ignored the officer’s activated emergency lights, siren, and commands over the patrol car’s loudspeaker.
