Earlier this year, Novant Health announced plans to embark on a multiyear, billion-dollar plan to expand and modernize its health care facilities across the region.
While the provider awaits a decision from state officials on its plans to add 225 inpatient beds to its planned heart and vascular tower at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center (NHRMC), several other projects are expected to expand access to care across coastal North Carolina over the next year.
“A lot of the projects we’ve been planning for and been talking about are actually going to open (in the next 12 months),” said Laurie Whalin, president of the Novant Health Coastal Region. “The capacity building planning we’ve been doing is finally going to come to fruition, and people will see that in 2027.”…
