ROCKFORD — The future home of a one-stop resource for survivors of domestic and sexual abuse has been given a new name in recognition of a $2 million gift that allows for construction to move forward after years of fundraising.
The space at 214 N. Church St. will be called the Puri Family Peace Center after the commitment from the Puri Foundation, a nonprofit that was founded by late developer and philanthropist Sunil Puri. The foundation’s work is carried on by his children today…
