CANTON, Miss. (WLBT) – A grandmother and a former teacher are reacting to the closure of SR1 College Preparatory and STEM Academy in Canton after the Mississippi Charter School Authorizer Board voted Monday to revoke the school’s charter.
The closure caught many parents off guard, and they say they are upset. The former teacher said she saw warning signs but hoped the school would not close.
More than 100 students will need a new school by January.
