BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — With Halloween falling on a Saturday this year, police in Bakersfield said they’re preparing for heavier crowds, more traffic and an increased risk of impaired driving as families head out after dark to celebrate and trick-or-treat.
Sgt. Eric Celedon said the Bakersfield Police Department will increase enforcement and visibility for the holiday weekend.
“We will have extra patrols out there, our traffic division is out in full force doing everything we can to make sure we keep the roads safe for everybody here in Bakersfield,” Celedon said.
He urged anyone planning to drink to make other transportation arrangements…
