WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Emergency repairs are underway at Cape Fear River Lock and Dam No. 1 after an erosion issue underneath the structure was identified.
According to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Wilmington District (USACE), inspectors confirmed that river currents eroded a channel through the riverbed beneath the lock.
