We’ll learn around noon Friday, Oct. 30 if we’ll have a Battle of Boone County for the Class Three state title in softball, or if the Oak Grove Panthers are still on track to claim a second crown in three seasons.
Those will be among the first questions answered at the Killian Softball Complex in Springfield when MSHSAA’s semifinals continue. The 27-5 Oak Grove Panthers will face the 27-2 Southern Boone Eagles at 11 a.m., at the same time the Centralia Panthers face Cape Girardeau Notre Dame. The winners will square off in championship game Saturday at 10 a.m., while the third place game will take place Friday at 3 p.m.
Class One action will follow, where the Gallatin Bulldogs are looking for a repeat trip to the state championship game. The 11-11 Bulldogs battle the 29-2 Princeton Tigers at noon, at the same time Wheatland battle Silex. The winners have their championship tilt at 12:15 p.m. Saturday, while the third place game will occur at 5:15 p.m. tonight…
