An alleged scheme to build a massive Lego collection fell to pieces for two Ocala men after they were chased down leaving a Walmart in The Villages.
Cristian Manuel Rivera Velazquez, 20, and Evan Sean Johnson, 20, both of Ocala, were arrested Thursday, Oct. 29, on felony charges of grand theft.
According to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department, a loss prevention investigator at the Walmart at 1115 Waxman Drive observed the pair in the toy department at about 1:13 p.m.. The duo allegedly removed security devices from four boxes of Legos, concealed them in Walmart shopping bags and walked past all points of sale without paying.
