Knightdale residents will notice a $55 million bond referendum on their ballots tomorrow. If passed, the Knightdale Parks & Recreation Bond will raise property taxes while funding the development of a community center to support Knightdale’s growing population.
The potential community center will be built on a 33-acre tract of land at 2004 Marks Creek Road. It is slated to include gymnasiums, athletics fields and courts, a playground, and multi-purpose rooms for programming.
Knightdale’s property taxes are predicted to increase by $0.035 per $100 of assessed property valuation if residents vote for the bond referendum. If approved, property tax liability will increase by an estimated $35 a year for $100,000 of property tax value.
