(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The In Their Honor Veterans Day Parade in downtown Colorado Springs is happening on November 7 at 11 a.m. This is the region’s opportunity to honor those who protected our freedom and way of life.
Event organizers Andy Koen and John O’Donnell discussed what attendees can expect.
The Grand Marshal is 103-year-old Wanda Daniels. 250 women will dress as Rosie the Riveter and participate in the festivities. Nearly 1,000 junior ROTC members will march across 10 local high schools. The United States Air Force Academy Band will be on-site.
“Viewers who wish to honor a veteran or military service member can sponsor a flag through our Salute from the Springs campaign,” said Koen. “We will decorate medians in downtown Colorado Springs with 1,111 U.S. flags in honor of veterans, and for a $25 parade donation, we will add your hero’s name to one of the flags. Visit ithveteransdayparade.com to participate.”…
