An Ann Arbor shawarma favorite has a bigger home.
Shawarma Shop & Bakery has opened in an expanded space inside the 777 Building at 777 E. Eisenhower Parkway, giving the family-run Lebanese restaurant more room for diners while keeping it close to the Southside neighborhood where it built its following.
The restaurant is owned by Bilal Choukeir and his wife, Jenny. Bilal, the head chef, has more than 25 years of culinary experience and previously served as culinary director at Atwater Brewery.
