Eagle Rock BRT project could remove 14 trees, replace them with 86

Eagle Rock—Fourteen trees may be cut down along the center median and sidewalk of 1500-2700 W. Colorado Blvd., as part of the North Hollywood to Pasadena Bus Rapid Transit project.

They will eventually be replaced by 86 trees, according to Melissa Colman, a spokesperson for LA Metro, which is seeking permits for the tree removal.

Current plans would remove trees from the following locations:

  • Caspar Avenue to Maywood Avenue: two trees
  • Maywood Avenue to Shearin Avenue: three trees
  • Highland View Avenue to Hermosa Avenue: two trees
  • Argus Drive to La Roda Avenue: three trees
  • Vincent Avenue to Townsend Avenue: four trees

Other parts of the plan are still pending, including the removal schedule, the tree replacement plans, the cost of the work, and a public hearing specifically about the trees…
