Spokane County partially prevailed in a lawsuit filed by the two managers of the county’s public defense offices.
Stevens County Superior Court Judge Lech Radzimski issued an order on Oct. 20 denying the plaintiffs’ request for a preliminary injunction and granting, in part, Spokane County’s request for summary judgment (essentially dismissing those issues).
The lawsuit was filed earlier this year by Colin Charbonneau, director of the Spokane County Public Defender’s office, and Victoria Blumhorst, director of the Counsel for Defense, which takes cases that have a conflict in the main office, as well as juvenile cases…
