WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A newly proposed route for the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge replacement could change how drivers access downtown Wilmington, but it may also bring new opportunities for businesses along the proposed roadway.
The North Carolina Department of Transportation’s proposed Alternate B would direct traffic from the new bridge into downtown Wilmington through a large loop ramp connecting to Third Street.
Under the proposal, traffic exiting the bridge would be directed toward the intersection of South Third and Dawson streets, an area surrounded by several businesses, including Pinnacle Storage and a Burger King…
