CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – The former Younkers space at Lindale Mall has been sold to a new owner, City Council member Scott Olson confirmed.
Olson said the buyer is the same developer that recently opened a Dick’s House of Sport connected to the mall in the former Sears location. The developer also opened a Vasa Fitness next to the mall in the former Hy-Vee, Olson said.
Lower-level businesses relocating
Questions about the mall’s future followed a social media post from Iron Lotus, a tattoo shop on the mall’s lower level. The business posted that it was given short notice to move out. Iron Lotus has found a new location outside the mall. They’re located at 5303 N Park Pl.
Locker Room Legends, which also was located on the lower level, confirmed it is moving upstairs. The business posted that it plans to open upstairs sometime between November 13-18.
Plans for vacant spaces unclear
It is unclear what will happen with the section of the lower level that housed the businesses. It also is unclear what will happen with the former Younkers space…
