Schenectady, N.Y. (WRGB) — The Capital Region’s high school football sectional semifinals delivered blowouts, a late-game interception that decided a shootout, and a few teams moving one win away from a championship.
In Class AA, Christian Brothers Academy rolled past Shenendehowa to earn another trip to the Super Bowl. On the Brothers’ first drive, quarterback Matt Kowalski escaped pressure on a second-down pass play, took off running and broke free for a touchdown to make it 7-0. Shenendehowa later reached the red zone but turned it over on downs when Jack Clawson was sacked on fourth down. CBA capitalized with another Kowalski rushing touchdown to extend the lead to 14-0. Later, on fourth-and-25, Kowalski threw downfield to Jack Hulett for a big completion, setting up another score.
