Man critically injured after being hit by train in north Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio ( WCMH ) — One person has been hospitalized after being hit by a train Tuesday afternoon in north Columbus.

Police and fire officials were called to the 2800 block of Silver Drive just after 2 p.m. after reports of a crash near a train. A man was found after being hit by a train and was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition, Columbus police said.

East Weber Road was closed between Silver Drive and Indianola Avenue, according to a spokesperson with the Columbus Division of Fire, and was reopened by 6:30 p.m.
