A heavy police presence was reported in south Charlotte early Wednesday morning.
Channel 9 crews observed the scene on Interstate 77 near the Carowinds Boulevard exit.
Several vehicles with the York County Sheriff’s Office were in the area.

According to Deputy Trent Faris, deputies attempted to pull over a vehicle after it failed to stop at a stop sign.
The suspects in the vehicle also allegedly threw guns and drugs out of the vehicle’s window before a chase ensued.
The chase came to an end in south Charlotte just before 4 a.m., and two people were taken into custody.
