During a recent press briefing, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) expressed optimism for America’s future funding between the Ukraine and Russia conflict, which has been ongoing for years. The United States has been a key supporter of Ukraine, providing both military assistance and economic aid.
Senator Schumer’s comments came after the Senate passed a foreign aid bill that includes funding for Ukraine through the end of the year.
When asked about the duration of U.S. support for Ukraine, Senator Schumer noted the robust nature of the current package.
“I think that the strong vote, particularly on the Republican side in the Senate, despite the fact that their putative presidential candidate [Donald Trump] argued so strongly against it, gives us more momentum,” Senator Schumer stated.
“If we have to pass future aid to Ukraine, it will be easier, not harder.” Senator Schumer added.
The New York Democrat acknowledged the effort it took to build a coalition for the current funding package and emphasized the need to continue this effort for future funding.
