Omaha, Pottawattamie County consider changes to make small backyard homes, ADUs, more feasible

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha City Council is set to consider its first move on the city’s Affordable Housing Action Plan. The plan calls for 30,000 more housing units by 2030. Accessory Dwelling Units, or ADUs, are small apartment-sized homes that can be built on the same lot or attached but separate from an existing home. The idea is they can add housing density to already developed areas.
