Former NC Rep. Elmer Floyd: I can bring resources to Cumberland County

EXPERIENCE is what Cumberland County needs in Raleigh.

Cumberland County needs to send to Raleigh an experienced representative who can work well with all members of the N.C. General Assembly. I have the experience to bring resources to Cumberland County.

I am a U.S. Army veteran, a graduate of Fayetteville State University and a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. Among my leadership positions I have held the position of Human Relations director for the City of Fayetteville for more than 27 years; vice president of the local NAACP, which addressed the issue of “Driving While Black”; Murchison Road Corridor chairman; and past president of the National Association of Human Rights workers (which has more than 600 members).

In the General Assembly I served on seven standing committees and vice chair on three of those committees. I also served on 15 non-standing committees.

I helped to secure funds from the N.C. General Assembly to enclose the Committal Center the Fort Liberty cemetery (Sandhills).
